Macaron Day happens on Wednesday March 20, 2024.
March 20th is National Macaron Day, and it’s time to celebrate the beloved French cookie. But if you don’t know your macarons from a macaroni, don’t worry – we’ve got all the answers you need right here! Let’s dig in and discover the delicious flavors of French macarons.
To start off our journey of discovery, let’s begin with the traditional flavors of macarons. These are classic French flavors that you can find at almost any bakery or cafe that serves macarons. The most popular flavors include chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, pistachio, and salted caramel. However, there are many more traditional flavors to explore such as strawberry, lemon, orange blossom, lavender honey, and coffee almond.
As we venture beyond the traditional flavors of French macarons we find a world full of unique flavor combinations. From savory to sweet to downright daring combinations that will make your taste buds sing! Some unique flavor combinations include apricot buttercream sandwiched between a pair of black pepper cookies; peanut butter-banana-bacon; guava-passionfruit; and even foie gras! For those looking for something even more daring than foie gras why not try a blueberry wasabi?
For those who like to take their desserts to the next level there are gourmet flavored macarons available too. These delectable treats combine some classic French favorites with high quality ingredients for an exquisite experience like no other. Examples include dark chocolate truffle filled with an orange cream; white chocolate mousse with espresso cream filling; or pear cream filled with crème brûlée flavoring. Yum!
No matter what type of flavor you prefer – traditional, unique or gourmet – there is sure to be a perfect flavor of French macarons for everyone on National Macaron Day (or any day)!
