National Chicken Wing Day happens on Monday July 29, 2024.
It’s that time of year again, foodies! National Chicken Wing Day is upon us, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by chowing down on some juicy wings. But before you fire up the grill, let’s take a few minutes to learn a little bit about this delicious dish. After all, knowledge is power!
Chicken wings first gained popularity in the United States in the 1950s, when they were served at Buffalo-style bars and restaurants. At that time, chicken wings were considered nothing more than a bar snack or appetizer. However, their popularity exploded in the 1980s, thanks in part to the rise of Buffalo Wild Wings. Today, chicken wings are one of America’s favorite foods and can be found on menus across the country.
While chicken wings are typically categorized by their sauces or flavorings, there are really only two types of chicken wings: drumettes and flats. Drumettes are the larger, meatier portion of the wing and contain three distinct sections: the arm, the wingtip, and the drumette. Flats, on the other hand, are smaller and contain only two sections: the arm and the wingtip.
So there you have it, foodies! Everything you need to know about National Chicken Wing Day. Now get out there and enjoy some wings! Just don’t forget to save me a few…
