Honey is made by bees who collect nectar from flowers and then store it in their hive. An enzyme in the bee’s stomach breaks down the nectar into simple sugars, which makes it easier for the bees to store the honey. When the bee returns to the hive, other bees suck the nectar from their mouth and deposit it into storage cells. The evaporation of water from the honeycomb causes the honey to thicken and mature. Voila! That’s how honey is made!
