July
National Ice Cream Month happens on Monday July 1, 2024.
July isn’t just about basking in the summer sun and planning weekend getaways—it’s also National Ice Cream Month! That’s right, an entire month dedicated to celebrating the creamy, dreamy treat that has been making our taste buds dance for centuries. From classic vanilla to exotic dragon fruit sorbet, and everything in between, there’s no flavor too wild or topping too extravagant. So, let’s dive spoon-first into the coolest celebration of the year!
Did you know National Ice Cream Month was designated in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan? Recognizing ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by over 90 percent of the nation’s population, he called for all people of the United States to observe these events with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” And who are we to deny a presidential decree, especially when it involves ice cream?
National Ice Cream Month is more than just indulging in your favorite scoop; it’s about celebrating the joy and community that ice cream brings into our lives. It’s a reminder to enjoy the sweet moments, to share smiles and laughs over a cone, and to relish the simple pleasures. So, this July, let’s raise our cones, cups, and spoons in a collective cheer to ice cream, the summer’s coolest companion. Here’s to a month filled with flavor, fun, and, of course, extra sprinkles!
