It’s Sprinkle Day! A day to celebrate those tiny morsels of flavor and color that make our desserts even sweeter. But where did this holiday come from, and what exactly are sprinkles? Read on to find out everything you need to know about Sprinkle Day.
Sprinkles are small pieces of candy that are used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, ice cream, and other desserts. They come in a variety of colors and flavors, and can be made from sugar, chocolate, or other ingredients. Sprinkles are also known as “jimmies” in some parts of the United States.
Sprinkle Day is a relatively new holiday, having started in 2009. The holiday was created by Lauren LaValle, owner of the baking blog ‘Bake at 350’. According toLaValle, she came up with the idea for the holiday while she was eating ice cream with sprinkles and realized that there wasn’t a day to celebrate this delicious treat. And so, Sprinkle Day was born!
